MEET JILL MORRIS

Jill Morris is a PURPOSEPRENEUR with a moral compass. With over 20 years of experience as a public relations practitioner in the public sector, Jill has managed communication projects from every aspect of the sector---from grassroots organizations and professional associations to higher education and the Federal government. This multi-faceted experience has positioned Jill as an expert in cause-related marketing and organizational development and management. In her role as Chief Executive Officer of The Savvy Servant LLC, Jill leads a savvy team of visionaries.
Under her leadership, Jill has spearheaded countless programs and projects; developed public relations strategies that have resulted in international media coverage, funding, partnerships, and policy changes, and; has taken ordinary people from visionaries to sought-after experts in their fields. Jill’s clients have been invited to speak at the White House, before congress, and in front of massive live audiences on five (5) continents; appeared on, and featured in, CNN, HLN, Nightline, BBC, BET, TVOne, ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, Forbes, Ebony, USAToday, LA Times, Washington Post, Huffington Post, and; have been nationally recognized with countless accolades, honors and awards for their contributions to society. Jill's savvy also landed client Girls on the Run coverage on the White House's official blog---under the Obama Administration.
Prior to starting her consulting business Jill served as a program manager for the Administration for Children and Families within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in Washington, DC. As a program manager, Jill developed a multi-million-dollar family enrichment program under the Healthy Families initiative that included, but was not limited to, drafting policies and procedures, providing management and oversight to nonprofit grantees funded under the program, and representing the program at hearings on Capitol Hill. Jill also served as a grant proposal panel reviewer and facilitator making recommendations to approve/decline grant funding requests for various programs in the department.
Over the years, in addition to managing nonprofit projects under the Federal government, Jill has held public relations positions at some of the nation’s most relied upon nonprofit organizations including the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), The TLPJ Foundation, and; The Kennedy Foundation where she served as special assistant/press secretary to the late Honorable Eunice Kennedy Shriver.
Every February, Jill spearheads her own Matters of the Heart cause-related campaign encouraging social media friends, fans, and followers to wear red for the entire month to help bring awareness to the emotional and spiritual issues that often deceive the heart (Jeremiah 17:9). Jill also remains active in the community by serving as Board Advisor for several community initiatives and is the founder of the NC Triangle Nonprofit Society.
Jill holds a Master of Science in Administration (M.S.A.) degree with a focus on Nonprofit Management from Trinity University and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Communication/Public Relations from Bowie State University.
Jill resides in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband, Terence.
